My art… hhmmmm… not related to the “survival of life” type of things that I am writing on this site (because even as an artist I believe donations to house hungry children should take priority over some 18yo going to art college, but anyway). So I guess being a professional artist half of my life, I suppose I have plenty I can say about art, so I will have to add it here as well… maybe.. if the mood strikes.
Thinking about it now, I do have quite a few chapters I started to write for an ebook about being an experienced AIRBRUSH artists at beaches back in the day, and a bunch I wrote about TATTOOING so who knows.
I also don’t want to take away from the massive importance of art in the big picture of humanity. A few examples quickly come to mind… like the power of corporate logos all the way back to when man was painting on the walls in caves, telling war stories with stick figures and focusing on the image for the hunt that meant survival. Another is the power of religious images used in the middle ages and renaissance to feed the minds of those who had no mental picture of the glory and horrors written and spoken to create awe, cause fear, and add power to countless superstitions. Another still is about the moral of the people. World War II had many powerful example of art that moved the masses to action and patterns of thoughts and beliefs. Posters like Rosie the Riveter inspired women to show what they were made of as they left home to work in the factories while the men went overseas to fight. And in a way one could say that the image of the Pin Up Girls in photos and paintings helped save the world giving the soldiers a reason to dream, love, champion, and return home alive. Propaganda posters made a difference beyond any other form of message while hanging for all to see all day long, and sending millions to fight and die for many right and many wrong ideals. From a U.S. point of view, the pin up girl may have saved the world.
